Evolution of Media

Photography and Film:

Photography has changed all the time, the first selfie was taken place in 1839 showing the beginning of personal image capturing. In that same year, William Henry Fox Talobot invented the photographic negative process. The creation of the first motion picture was in 1888 and in 1891, Thomas Edison invented the motion picture camera which was huge for videography. Charles Ginsburg developed VCR in 1954 and from 1950s to 2007 VCRS,DVDs and VHS tapes was the way that you could access video content. Digital video became popular in 200t and changes how people consume and share video. 

Media Evolution

In terms of media evolution, cassette tapes were developed in 1935 and there were milestones in 1963,1979 and 2009. In 1979, Sony Walkman was changed portable music listening forever. The Sony Walkman make it access to take your music on the go and even have music in the car. This invention was featured in Back to the Future. In 2000, CDs became the main use for music in the industry that replaced cassette tapes in many households. 

Morse Code was invented by Samuel Morse in New York and has changed communication in 1854 by allowing messages to be sent through electric signals using dots and dates. The first Morse Code message was "What Hath G-d Wrought!”, showing how technology could overtake traditional mail and newspapers which go through the country at an fast and new pace.

Motion Pictures

Motion pictures started in 1883 by showing the outline of modern cinema. The first feature-length film was released in 1927 as black and white production that show the milestone in the film industry. By the 1980s , color film became popular with 15 minute sciences that were generated by an computer. For example, Toy Story was the first film in the use of computer generated imagery(CGI), setting new goals for animated features. The 1950s shows the introduction of the first 3D films, showing audience with immersive films, impressing audience with visuals. In 2009, 3D technology reached the peak with the release of Avatar which was the introduction of the concept of 4D cinema experiences.

Cable TV

Cable TV provides an new platform for news, education and media activism which help to combat misinformation and focus public attention on specific issues. YouTube was founded as a startup by one of PayPal's co-founders, became a major player in digital video sharing and was bought by Google for $1.56 Billion.
