Blog Post #11: Final Blog Post

I believe that I have a health relationship with technology because I maintain a good balance in my usage and don't rely on it for everything in my daily life. It can be challenging to find this balance, especially with the pressure to always be connected. Technology helps me significant, particularly in school. The internet provides an immense amount of information, almost every question I have answered through online resources. I am able to complete my schoolwork using technology saving time as I edit and find information faster than ever. I feel smarter because I can research information quickly with everything I need available on one screen.
Healthy Relationship with Technology

A major concern is the false information online everywhere. Misinformation can lead to misunderstandings and spread easily on social media which make issues even worse. It's crucial to double check the websites I use to ensure the information is trustworthy.

I am also concerned about the amount of time we spend online daily. From messaging to school work, there is so much internet use can lead to overlooking important tasks and make hasty decisions. Spending less time on essential tasks can lead to mistakes or lack of understanding.

When I share contact information, I think it is safe for the most part but if I would rather give out an email address rather than a phone number especially when I don't know someone well. Using social media handle is another option for being less personal about your information.

Online Presence, I believe not much personal information is publicity available about me due to security settings. People can still find basic details like my phone number or school. Some people such as influencers may share much more personal information online.

Many people specifically teenagers spend too much time on social media. According to a survey, 55% of US teens believe they spend the right amount of time on these platform, while 36% feel they spend too much time. There are benefits to social media like staying connected with friends but the potential for addiction is big part of the downside. (Vogels, Teens, social media and technology 2022 2022.)

When applying for jobs, its common for employers to look up candidates. If an employer searches for me, they are likely to find my social media account first. I strive to ensure my online presence reflect professionalism, removing any content that might portray me negatively.

Technology plays a crucial; role in our lives. While my online presence is professional and I recognize the benefits technology has to offer. I also understand the risks associated with social media addiction. Balancing technology use is essential to maximize its positive impact.

I appreciate technology because it offers creativity and self-expression. Platforms like blogs, video-sharing websites and design tools allow people to showcase their talents and share their passions with a global audience. I open up to oppurtunies to learn new skills like graphic design and video editing while connecting with people that think like me. I make it a point to set a boundary and prioritize offline activities to ensure that technology enhances life rather than controls it.
